I was looking for something professional but unique and above all functional. It needed to hold my 15 inch MacBook, some files/papers and have easy (external) access to phone, keys and wallet. A well-known speaker/blogger shared about her McKlein bag, so I carefully compared the various models. I'm surprised more people haven't opted for the Avon. The external pocket is more accessible (deeper) than those of other models. It's easy to get the laptop in and out because the zippers go all the way to the base of the bag rather than only opening across the top. I love that it has the padded laptop pocket as well as a tablet compartment and organizers that will hold a cell phone (even the larger models) or wallet, pens and business cards. Others complain about the weight, but it doesn't weigh any more than any other leather laptop bag. The red isn't quite a burgundy or maroon, but it's a nice deep red that looks professional but stands out in a sea of black. The only option I miss is having a longer detachable strap that would allow for cross-body carrying when traveling (like the Lake Forest has). Otherwise it's a great bag and I'm ordering a second color! (PS--after using it, I'd also say that it would be nice to have a tab that snaps or velcros across the computer slot like there is for the tablet. That would make it just about perfect.)This bag is HEAVY. It's lovely, but it will give you back problems. If you intend to carry this a lot, or with a laptop, look forward to some serious cramps.
